Hydro One – Bayview Junction / Midtown Project
Dear Neighbours,
On behalf of the project team, I’m happy to inform you that Hydro One’s landscaping around the junction and along Old Pottery Road is now complete. We are pleased to have implemented a fulsome landscaping plan as per the landscape design and the implementation of additional community feedback received at our community walk in June, and outlined below.
As previously communicated, we will continue to monitor the growth of the grass, and will proceed with installing sod in the fall, as required. In addition, we will continue to monitor the condition of the plantings over the next 2 years and will replace them should they become damaged/diseased.
This concludes Hydro One’s activities at Bayview Junction in support of the Midtown Project.
I would also like to inform you that in the fall, Hydro One’s forestry crews will be returning to Bayview Junction to complete the maintenance of vegetation along the corridor adjacent to the railway. Hydro One’s vegetation maintenance programs take place along each of our transmission corridors across the province, to ensure that vegetation and trees do not interfere with the safe operation of our equipment. This corridor was last maintained in 2010 and like several others in Toronto, is due for maintenance. Please note this work is separate from the Midtown Project and will not include the recent landscaping.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Many thanks,
Dana Gardner
